Pokhara - Fewar (Phewar) Lake

We took a boat ride on the lake today. I can imagine Lake Fewar twenty years ago as place of amazing pristine beauty. Today I believe it's an impending environmental disaster. There are a few signs around advertising the Lake Preservation Society, and we did see one person collecting rubbish from the shoreline on the far side of the lake, but the effort required to make an impact would be enormous. The water is thick with rubbish and algal bloom. Doesn't show in the video, but it's pretty gross... and this is the water supply.

The rest of the day was pretty lazy. Collecting some clothes Sue had made in her size, picking up the washing, drinking coffee, eating pancakes and watched Nepali life go by....

We saw the hedge trimmers were doing their rounds.

We saw the smoke haze again. No mountains.

We dined at the un-named cafe with the best momos in town, their sign said so, and I swilled 650ml of 7% Nepal Ice Super Strong beer. Mikey will be proud of me.

We're on the 5th floor of the Trekkers Inn, 100 steps to climb each time. Not sure what to make of the 6th floor...
